How to Stop Blog Comment Spam On Wordpress Blogs

blogcommentspam Blog comment spam is a real pain for most bloggers. It is disheartening to work on a blog, look for people to comment and find that some fool has tried to add their pharmaceutical link, or even worse, the latest celebrity scandal video link.

I do not take drugs, and I could not care less about the latest celebrity scandal. I have a life, it’s good, and maybe spammers should get lives too. It would help them.

It’s kinda like being in second grade, drawing a really pretty flower, and then watching some bully come up and try and scribble all over it. I still get the feeling of wanting to jab them in the head with my crayon, stand on my chair, and scream at the top of my lungs until the teacher subdues me. Yes, I was that kid.

If you have these feelings too, don’t dismay, you can install a simple free Wordpress plugin called Re-Captcha, and it will make those spam monkeys so elsewhere. Simply install the plugin, activate it, register and copy the key codes. Very simple.

This might not stop all of them from spamming, but I can guarantee that it will slow them down. Spammers are often lazy, and that is the secret to their game. They want it all fast, without work. Making them enter a captcha code will discourage them, and oftentimes, they will simply move on to the next blog.
