This is how to recover your Blogspot blog if Google deletes it…

(this is how I looked at 11:15pm last night after Google deleted my Blogger blog for SPAM)

If Google deletes your blog, don’t worry, there are ways that you can request that it be reinstated, and if that fails, use my method to recover your blog content and move it all over to WordPress on your own domain.

I am not at all happy with Google right now.  They deleted one of my Blogspot blogs for Spam, and because today is Friday, it will take 4 days for them to review it to be recovered.  They say that the review process is 2 business days.

Anywho, I took the necessary steps to get it reinstated, and I saved all of the content I had written using the following steps.

  • The first thing that you will want to do is take a deep breath and calm yourself.  I had to do this for about 30 minutes last night while my head was spinning.
  • Next, go to your Dashboard, find your blog, and click “Restore access to this blog”.  This step will require you to enter a phone number so that they can call or text you with a code that you will enter into a Google form.
  • Now you will want to go to the Google forum under this link: Google Help Forum – Something is Broken
  • Report your blog deleted, remember to enter in the URL…
Time to work to get your content back:
  • Google your blogspot blog in parenthesis: “http://myblog.blogspot.com”
  • Look to the right of each of your links to the highlighted blue text that reads “Cached”
  • Click on Cached for each post, and copy and paste your blog posts into a Wordpad document, or whatever Word editor you use.   Save your images, and videos too if you have them.
This will help you to take your content and host it on your own domain.  If Google does restore your blog and you want to host it on your own domain, the following are step by step instructions on how to do this, I suggest Mamablogga.com – The Ultimate Guide To Migrating From Blogger To WordPress
