7 Strategies for Creating Profitable Ad Campaigns on the Google Content Network

The Google Content Network is a powerful way to get massive traffic to your websites. Clicks are relatively inexpensive, with some successful campaigns reporting $.02 per click.

There are 7 relatively simple strategies that you can use to make your ad campaigns much more profitable.

1. Pay attention to your campaign structure – Make niche ad groups.  Create an ad group based on each product or service that you want to advertise.

2.  Carefully choose your keywords – Be sure to choose keyword that are closely related to one another, and to the advertisements in each ad group.

3.  Write clear, attention grabbing ad copy: Think headline attention grabbing ad copy.  Make sure that your ads are clear and well written, and that they will attract readers attention.

4.  Separate Content Network Bidding: Keep your bidding on the content network separate from search network bidding.  Actually keep these two advertising platforms separate, and everyone will get along.

5.  Negative Keywords - Use them.  You might think that it’s a pain in the neck to come up with a list of keywords that you don’t want to use, but this step will save you money.  Would you rather pay for wasted clicks?!?

6.  Remove categories and websites that are not related to your niche – Exclude and un-invite party crashing websites that attract click crazy readers who have no intention of buying anything.  Go through and remove these sites.

7.  Grab the Gold – Get that winning placement from Google, you deserve it!  Play by the big G’s rules and go after that high quality score.  This will help you get better bid pricing, and ultimately better placement on content network pages.
